What Are SDS Swiss Ceramic Implants?

SDS implants are the gold standard in metal-free implant dentistry. Engineered in Switzerland from pure zirconium dioxide, one of the most biocompatible materials known to modern medicine, SDS ceramic implants are completely free of metal, hypoallergenic, and designed to integrate seamlessly with your natural bone and gum tissue.

Unlike traditional titanium implants, which contain metal alloys that can trigger sensitivity responses, conduct heat and electricity, and leave a dark shadow at the gumline over time, SDS zirconia implants offer a cleaner, healthier, and far more aesthetically refined alternative. The result is a restoration that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth while actively supporting your body rather than working against it.

For patients who prioritize both the health of their smile and the health of their body, SDS Swiss ceramic implants represent the most advanced implant solution available today.

Certified SDS Provider

As a certified SDS Swiss Dental Solutions provider trained directly by Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz, Dr. Salavati offers Swiss-engineered, 100% metal-free zirconia implants, among the most biocompatible and aesthetically superior implants available in the world today.

Key Benefits of SDS Swiss Ceramic Implants

100% Metal-Free & Hypoallergenic

Natural Aesthetic Appearance

Superior Osseointegration & Faster Healing

Swiss Precision & Decades of Durability

Whole-Body Biocompatibility

1

100% Metal-Free & Hypoallergenic

Made from pure zirconia, SDS implants contain absolutely no metal of any kind. This makes them the ideal choice for patients with metal sensitivities, allergies, or autoimmune conditions, as well as anyone who simply prefers to avoid introducing metal materials into their body. Zirconia is one of the most biocompatible materials available in modern dentistry. Your body recognizes it as safe and integrates with it naturally.

2

Natural Aesthetic Appearance

The white ceramic composition of SDS implants blends seamlessly with your natural gum tissue and bone, eliminating the dark gumline shadow that can develop around titanium implants over time. Whether used for a single tooth restoration or a full arch case, the result is a smile that looks completely natural, with no visible signs of an implant.

3

Superior Osseointegration & Faster Healing

SDS implants feature advanced surface technology specifically engineered to promote strong, stable osseointegration, the process by which the implant fuses with your jawbone. This advanced surface structure supports faster healing, more robust bone connection, and long-term implant stability that rivals and in many cases exceeds that of traditional titanium systems.

4

Swiss Precision & Decades of Durability

Every SDS implant is engineered in Switzerland to the most exacting standards of precision, strength, and performance. Zirconia is an exceptionally hard, fracture-resistant material that maintains its structural integrity over decades of normal function. Patients can expect a restoration that performs reliably and looks beautiful for the long term, without corrosion, metal fatigue, or degradation over time.

5

Whole-Body Biocompatibility

Beyond the implant itself, zirconia has been shown to resist bacterial adhesion more effectively than titanium, meaning less plaque accumulation around the implant site and a lower risk of peri-implantitis (implant-related gum disease). For patients committed to holistic health, this systemic advantage makes SDS ceramic implants the clear biological choice.

Our Holistic SDS Implant Protocol

At Dr. Salavati's Beverly Hills practice, the placement of every SDS implant follows a comprehensive biological protocol designed to optimize healing, minimize physiological stress, and support your body's natural recovery processes from start to finish.

Pre-surgical immune support — preparing your body for the strongest possible healing response before the procedure begins
Ozone water irrigation — eliminating harmful bacteria and creating a sterile, biologically clean surgical environment
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) application — using concentrated growth factors from your own blood to accelerate bone and tissue regeneration
Precision SDS implant placement — guided by advanced CBCT cone beam imaging for surgical accuracy and optimal positioning
Post-operative ozone rinses and nutritional guidance — supporting your recovery naturally, reducing inflammation, and giving your implant the best possible environment to integrate successfully

Frequently Asked Questions About SDS Swiss Ceramic Implants

Most patients who are candidates for traditional titanium implants are also excellent candidates for SDS ceramic implants. The key requirements are adequate bone volume at the implant site, healthy gum tissue, and good overall health. Dr. Salavati will conduct a comprehensive evaluation including cone beam CT imaging at your consultation to determine your candidacy and discuss any preparatory steps — such as bone grafting — that may be needed to optimize your outcome.

The implant placement procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you will not feel pain during the surgery itself. Post-operative discomfort is typically mild to moderate and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief. Dr. Salavati's holistic protocol — including PRF therapy and ozone irrigation — is specifically designed to reduce post-surgical inflammation and accelerate healing, meaning most patients find their recovery more comfortable than they anticipated.

Dr. Salavati is a board-certified prosthodontist with an additional three years of specialty training beyond dental school, focused on implant dentistry and complex restorative cases. She is one of a select group of dentists in the United States certified directly by Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz — the founder of SDS Swiss Dental Solutions — in the precise placement of metal-free ceramic implants. This combination of prosthodontic expertise and specialized SDS certification is exceptionally rare in the Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles area.

Unlike dentures, which rest on the gumline and can shift or cause bone loss over time, or dental bridges, which require the grinding down of healthy adjacent teeth, SDS ceramic implants are anchored directly into the jawbone — preserving bone volume, protecting neighboring teeth, and delivering a stable, permanent result that functions and feels like your natural teeth. For most patients with sufficient bone, implants represent the superior long-term solution in every measurable way.

The cost of ceramic implants varies depending on the number of implants needed, whether preparatory procedures such as bone grafting are required, and the complexity of your specific case. Dr. Salavati's team will provide a fully transparent, detailed treatment plan and cost breakdown at your consultation. We accept CareCredit financing, major credit cards, and personal checks, and are happy to help you find a payment approach that works for your situation.
